Me: a 27 28 29 year old single San Francisco girl, with bits of Iowa, Colorado, Indiana, and Vermont also in the mix. Recently realized that my life is less “Sex in the City” and more “Sweats in the City” than I might like. Likes: running, expensive shoes, tall/dark/handsome men, anonymity, plastic silverware, and– of course– my favorite grey sweatpants. Dislikes: Cell phone addicts and drivers who pull into crosswalks.
I like getting comments, knowing that people read what I write. I like getting e-mail, too, although I am quite lazy about responding. If you want to send it anyway, you can: sweatsinthecity@gmail.com
I love your blog! Is there a way I can get on a list so that when you post something new I can read it? I am very lazy…except when doing internet research at work….this week’s project was to look up tourist spots in the Czech Republic and hotel prices for Christmas in Paris. It is amazing I haven’t been fired yet.
Ask and ye shall receive! Check out the link, upper right.
Hi! I just discovered your blog and had to leave you a comment to say how much I could relate to many, many of your posts! I am adding you to my blogroll (I hope this is OK)!
Also, you’ve inspired me to take part in x365!
Thanks, Hope, both for the comment and the blogroll add. Glad I could pass along the x365 (such an awesome idea!). I’ll look forward to reading your posts!
Great Blog! Found my way here from This Fish. I love to read about other peoples’ troubles with boys & cities. Keep up the good work, you’ve gained a new reader. =)
& to Krista: Here’s to Christmas in Paris & not being fired. I do the same seaches at work, lol.
Thanks, Megan! I love This Fish, too (for those of you not yet reading, check the blogroll to the right…). And welcome.
hey just wanted to say i love your blog! its really funny and i’m a single girl in chicago with two cats so i know how you feel! i found you from This Fish too you guys are awesome thanks for giving me something entertaining to read while im laying in bed bored with my cats! haha
Thanks, Christine! Hooray to being single in a city and having a few cats. Cheers!
I’m loving reading your blog! There are lot of posts I take comfort in, and a lot I can relate to.
I’m especially envious of your locale – grad school did not provide luxurious atmosphere than east central Indiana – and upon looking at your gorgeous flickr pics, am pretty sure that college pictured is an alma mater of my family.
But my favorite has to be getting new decor ideas (love the SF one and excited to see they make Chicago) and hearing about your ipod/nike contraption. I need to kick my ass into shape after sloth all these years and this has basically convinced me getting one will get me back to my running days.
Oh and I bogarted your x365 but gave you credit!
Thanks, lifeisbusting! I spent four years in north central Indiana, so I feel your pain.
Hooray for Nike+ and running… and have fun with x365. I so have been slacking on that front– think I only made it to 50something. Whoops!
i just blogrolled myself through lots of blogs and ended up here, so i thought i’d say – hi

Love your blog! Where did you get the quote, “I’m struck by the lightening of seeing you after you’re gone”?
On NPR’s ‘This American Life’ podcast, an episode about the classifeds. It’s apparently a Chinese poem. Beautiful, no?
Not sure how I stumbled here, but I love your blog! Great name.
